Day 15
Learning Targets - Students will be able to...
- Describe and compare biological, behavioral, cognitive, and sociocultural perspectives
- Summarize the evolution of modern psychological perspectives
Activity #1 - Return to the first day's exercise regarding a habit, or habits, that you would like to break ("You are that thing that you can't stop doing"). Outline a brief description from each of the 6 perspectives on how you might do this. For example, what would a behaviorist likely say is necessary for you to break your particular habit?
Activity #2 - Now that you have outlined a broad description for changing a behavior from each perspective in psychology, create a more detailed outline for a behaviorist approach using operant conditioning. Make sure that this plan includes a specific description and guidelines for how it would work, a means to measure effectiveness in changing th, and that it would be ethical and responsible.
Close - Student presentation and questions.
